 Kathy Mattea.The country star, known for her big hits "Love at the Five and Dime" and "Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses," appears at the summer music series at Long's Park Sunday. Free.
 
Elizabethtown Summer Arts Festival. Flashpoint Variety Band headlines annual arts and musical festival.  Sunday evening. Free.

"Hello Dolly". The matchmaker is at it again as the Mt. Gretna Playhouse finishes out its summer season grandly. Throughout this weekend .

Old Time Ale Festival: The Bell Ringer. Colonial brewing demonstration, presentation on historical Penn Manor taverns, live music, barbecue and ales from four Lancaster County micro-breweries.

Nickelback, Hinder, Papa Roach & Saving Abel. Multi-platinum rock band performs at Hersheypark Friday night.

Historicon. The “mother of all war gaming conventions," celebrating its 25th anniversary, is built on the theme of the Napoleonic Wars. Games, costume contests, birthday cake and more. Friday through Sunday Lancaster Host Resort.

Kenny Loggins. Kenny still has that great voice. In concert Friday night at the American Music Theatre,

Summer in Paradise 2009. Tropical-flavored music, food and drink for the 21 and over crowd. Bands include The CalypsoNuts, Tall Daddy and Tropical Soul. Games and silent auction. Saturday at  Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Benefits Easter Seals.

Monster Truck Spectacular Showdown. Plus Tuff Truck Challenge 2009 and monster truck pit party. Saturday at Buck Motorsports Park.

Florence Putterman: "Entwined Metaphors.".   Her work is in the Met and at the Chicago Art Institute. Now it’s on display at the Lancaster Arts Hotel Gallery. Show opens with jazz reception Friday.
